Spring Markets

Amid my uncertain housing situation, there is one thing that is certain – the show must go on! Craft show, that is. 😉

Here’s a break down of where you can find me over the next little while:

March 26th & 27th

Portobello West

Creekside Community Recreation Centre

The season opener of Portobello West Market is always one I look forward to & this year even more so as they make a splash in their new location right on the sea wall. That’s right – Portobello West is moving to Creekside Community Centre, the lovely floor-to-ceiling windowed space in the heart of the Olympic Village. There’s plenty of parking in the area plus it’s heaps more feet/bike/transit friendly. I can’t wait!

April 15, 16 & 17th

Make It! Vancouver

Croatian Cultural Centre

I’m a Make It virgin & am really excited about being a vendor for this rocking market. I’ve bumped into the organizers, Jenna & Chandler, plenty over the last couple of years since they decided to take on our fair city (Make It is already a popular show in Edmonton & Calgary). For some reason, the dates have never lined up & I’ve been committed elsewhere, so I’m thrilled to finally take part in the fun that I keep hearing so much about. The Make It shows stand out from your usual craft or art market by setting an upbeat vibe with DJs spinning tunes & a fully licensed bar. I’m thinking it would be a good idea (for me) to abstain from hitting the bar until Sunday night lest my ability to give the correct change get all happy & fuzzy.

Got Craft? Spring Edition

Royal Canadian Legion

2205 Commercial Drive ~ map

Ahhh…Got Craft. Oh how I wish you weren’t only twice a year! Vancouver’s largest indie craft fair brings out 50 of the top designers, artists & DIYers, all lovingly juried so as not to fill the space with, say, all beaded jewelery. The first 45 people through the door get a free swag bag brimming with goodies donated from each of the vendors & often some fab local sponsors, so this one gets busy fast! I think people started lining up near 6 a.m. last year! (Tip: if you’re NOT interested in vying for one of the much coveted swag bags, aim to drop by later in the afternoon, once that initial rush of people has scurried home to check out their loot.)

See you soon!
